Product Description

The Alpine overall is an amazing boot for the cold. – Jason N.

Enjoy that crisp winter weather in the Alpine – your fully-waterproof, lightweight, minimalist snow boot

Now you don’t need to sacrifice comfort and natural movement when the temperature starts to fall and snow is in the air (and on the ground).

Waterproof, cozy, and warm!

The Alpine keeps the wet out with a fully seam-sealed inner bootie and a water-resistant membrane in the boot’s upper.

The insulated polyester fleece lining keeps those piggies nice and warm. And a heat-reflective insole adds to the winter-friendly comfort. And, yes, you can remove the insole for an even more “barefoot” feeling.

The Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -32°C/-25°F, so they should keep your feet warm no matter where your adventures take you.

Lightweight and grippy

A men’s 42 weighs just 411 grams each, a luggy tread gives you sure-footed traction, and a flexible, non-elevated (zero-drop) sole lets your foot move naturally.

Plus, the Alpine is made from 100% vegan-friendly materials.

Whether you wear the Alpine for a romp in the snow or after you slip off your ski boots, remember…

Life-changing comfort and superior performance come from using your feet naturally.

That’s what Xero Shoes let you do.

Natural Fit. Natural Motion. Natural Feel.

Plus Xero Shoes are backed with a 5,000-mile sole warranty.

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

Alpine

Unlike, say, sleeping bags, there’s no accurate temperature rating system for shoes. How a shoe handles the cold (or, rather, how a person handles the cold in a shoe) depends on factors beyond air temperature, including: ground temperature, humidity, blood circulation in your feet, foot mobility (the more you move, the warmer you might feel) and, of course, the socks you’re wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be).

The short answer is, the Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -32°C/-25°F.

With the seam sealed bootie, heat-reflecting insole, insulated synthetic lining, and lugged sole, we’re giving you a cozy natural movement option for staying warm in the cold.

The answer is YES! The Alpine is a great boot to pair with snowshoes, especially with the zero-drop, FeelTrue® rubber soles for a low center of gravity. Most snowshoes secure the boots with straps that go over the toes, instep, and around the heel, and will work just fine with the Alpine. And with our 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, and the fully seam-sealed, water-resistant inner bootie, your feet should stay warm and toasty while you’re hiking!

Initial review

This is an initial, first review of a product I just bought. First of all, these shoes are quite hefty. Other than the zero drop heel, these are almost the same size and bulk as normal hiking boots. They feel lighter and more flexible on your feet, but not by as much as I expected. This suits me just fine. These are pretty much just normal waterproof hiking shoes, other than the drop. The toe box is wide, but not overly so. The fit is snug for my feet, but my feet are pretty wide. It fits a normal pair of socks, but probably not several layers of thicker socks, at least not for me. The bottoms started out surprisingly stiff, but became nice and soft on first use. At around 6C, I can only wear these for a bout half an hour before they become too hot, so that bodes well for the winter. I'm already sure these will be warm enough for me all winter, even without any extra socks. I even got to test the water proofing today, out in the rain, in real puddles, and there were no leaks. 100% dry. The only thing that remains to be seen is how well will they last. Initially, the quality seems fine, potentially even great. As to whether these are worth the money? I would say I'm pleasantly surprised. Compared to normal waterproof hiking shoes, the prize falls well within the range. Some options are cheaper, some much more expensive. As for other "barefoot" shoes? Xero is pretty much the only brand I've found with proper, no fuss delivery to my country, and I'm perfectly happy with that. I've bought from Xero before, and will definitely buy from them again.

Dry and super warm

I bought these boots one year ago. They kept my feet warm and dry in almost every condition. Only in puddles there runs a little bit of water into the shoe. With the inner sole for me its inposible to stay inside warm rooms for langer without overheating feet. Just remove the inner sole and its ok. The boot is „cleaning“ itself by getting wet. I bought it bigger to wear them with thick socks but this is absolutely unnecessary.
