Z-Trek

How do I get the right size for my Z-Trek?

Use the templates that are linked on this page (next to where you select the size, and in the product description).

NOTE: Please measure your foot and/or use the templates. Sandal size is very often different than shoe size.

What if the Z-Trek is too long for me?

There are 54 different foot shapes. And no product will fit everyone perfectly.

If you’re not sure you have the right size, drop us an email with some photos (top, side, back) and we’ll give you our opinion.

If you have the right size but the Z-Trek shape doesn’t quite match your foot… CUT IT! That’s right, you can trim the Z-Trek with a good pair of kitchen scissors. To finish the edge cleanly, try some sandpaper. Don’t cut off too much, too soon, though. Take off just a bit, and then see how you did. Remember, you can’t UN-cut.

If you’re a man with a very narrow foot, you may be better in the “women’s” style. Conversely, women with very wide feet, or over a size 10, should check the sizing for he “men’s” products.

What can I do in the Z-Trek?

Pretty much anything you want. Take a walk on the beach, a hike in the woods, hang out with friend, stroll around the campsite, approach a climb, paddle a canoe, run a marathon…

I’m not sure that Z-Trek, or any sandal for that matter, is right for lateral motion sports, like tennis or basketball.

So, use your common sense and HAVE FUN!

Can I adjust the Z-Trek lacing across the toes?

You sure can. Just slide the webbing through the slots on the outside of the sole to get the tension you like.

Note: A lot of our customers report that they like the toe strap looser than they thought they would. Experiment and see what you like best.

What’s the difference between Men’s and Women’s Z-Trek?

The women’s Z-Trek is a bit narrower, and the webbing is 4mm thinner.

So if you have a narrow foot, whether you’re a man or woman, you may want to check the “women’s” sizing templates and see how those work for you. Similarly, if you have a wider foot, regardless of your gender, check out the “men’s” templates.

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

Superb!!!!

At first I expected a piece of plastic with strings. In a way, that's what it is, but very high quality and well made. I was simply surprised. They are super comfortable to wear. They sit on your foot like a second sole! I will order more from you! Thank you!

Die besten Sandalen, die ich je hatte!

Ich bin dabei, komplett auf Barfußschuhe umzusteigen. Nach längerer Suche und dem Ausprobieren einer Sandale eines anderen Herstellers, die mir nicht gefiel, bin ich auf die Z-Trek-Herrensandale gestoßen und habe sie bestellt. Gr. 44 war mir zu groß, habe dann Gr. 43 bestellt, die passen prima. Das Laufgefühl ist phantastisch, sie sitzen fest am Fuß, dabei angenehm luftig. Das Zurückschicken der Gr. 44 war unkompliziert, das Geld wurde umgehend zurücküberwiesen. Bin sehr zufrieden.

Lovely for the city, dangerous outdoors

There are things to love about this sandal, but it is certainly not an “all purpose” one as marketed. First day wearing it, it started raining and I almost fell slipping. That was in the city, as for outdoors I tried using it once on some rocks by the sea - I almost killed myself. On non wet terrain it is not that bad, but the insole is too thin, making it rather uncomfortable in terrains with lots of sharp rocks. Now I am using my old pair of Wolf Jackson sandals for such activities and these xero ones I use in the city only.

Still needs improvements

When tightened, my little toe was pressed hard against the other toes and the outer part of my big toe was not covered by the sole. Also the strap was way to long and disturbed after tightening. Same goes for the velcro fastener at the heel, the strap too long and the velcro too short. Then the strap loop at the little toe always turns over when fastened. Last but not leastthe part of the sole in front of the middle toe is too long and often flips over if you don't lift your feet higher than usual. All in all okay, but definitely need some more adjustments.

The ultimate walking support system

Let’s be honest, modern shoes are not meant for our feet, they have mostrato unnatural shape, dictated by fashion nonsense, so, I wanted to try the most apparent natural way of wearing shoes. When I discovered barefoot shoes I almost immediately stumbled in these Xero Z-trek, they are basically a sole for your feet palms, with cool and resilient straps, which also look amazing, these have a shape that is way more appealing to me than most of the sandals I’ve ever seen and tried. After they arrived I could feel that the decision was a good one, they were outstandingly cool. The first couple of weeks I couldn’t make more than 1 Or 2 km walking in them, since my feet had to get used to the very slim sole, needed to develop stronger palms first, but then, after getting used to it, I can say that during summer I don’t use anything but these sandals, they fit pretty well both casual and sporty outfits and my feet, after a year, are stronger than ever, they have a more natural shape since fingers spread and my big toe doesn’t touch the other piggies anymore. 5 stars are not enough for these sandals. Go for them and you won’t ever regret it.
