Form Meets Function

I'm absolutely stunned by this boot. Not only is it in my opinion the best looking barefoot hiking boot on the market (especially in the champagne colour), but it's also insanely comfortable. Also yes it's fully waterproof. I tested them by submerging them in a sink, like I do with all my WP footwear. I'm always wary of boots because they often feel stiff or restrictive and my feet cannot deal with stiff footwear, so I thought I would give them a try only because they looked good. To my delight, the structured look of the boot is only a visual thing. Every material on it is extremely flexible, from the collar to the super soft uppers and it basically feels like you're wearing rugged slippers. However, this boot should also be very durable, as it has soft and harder protective overlays all around the usual wear points and the outsole also comes up a bit in the front and back. Speaking of the outsole, I absolutely love it. I hiked over jagged rocks with it and I could feel them but wasn't bothered by them at all. Perfect ground feel/protection balance. Xero have clearly done their homework with this one. The lugs are aggressive and I had great grip in the dry (haven't tested wet terrain yet). Overall, I'd say if you're looking for a light and flexible, yet waterproof and rugged hiking boot, absolutely give this one a try before you try anything else. Naturally it's all subjective, but in my opinion this boot is really hard to beat.
