The Alpine keeps the wet out with a fully seam-sealed inner bootie and a water-resistant membrane in the boot’s upper.

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

What’s the cold weather rating for the Alpine?

Unlike, say, sleeping bags, there’s no accurate temperature rating system for shoes. How a shoe handles the cold (or, rather, how a person handles the cold in a shoe) depends on factors beyond air temperature, including: ground temperature, humidity, blood circulation in your feet, foot mobility (the more you move, the warmer you might feel) and, of course, the socks you’re wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be).

The short answer is, the Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -32°C/-25°F.

With the seam sealed bootie, heat-reflecting insole, insulated synthetic lining, and lugged sole, we’re giving you a cozy natural movement option for staying warm in the cold.

Does the Alpine work well with snowshoes?

The answer is YES! The Alpine is a great boot to pair with snowshoes, especially with the zero-drop, FeelTrue® rubber soles for a low center of gravity. Most snowshoes secure the boots with straps that go over the toes, instep, and around the heel, and will work just fine with the Alpine. And with our 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, and the fully seam-sealed, water-resistant inner bootie, your feet should stay warm and toasty while you’re hiking!

Gemütlich und warm

Die Schuhe passten direkt, kein Einlaufen nötig. Ich habe noch nie so warme Füße gehabt wie in diesen XeroShoes. Einzig an die Sohle muss ich mich gewöhnen, ein bisschen wie Stollen. Bei nassem Kopfsteinpflaster doch z. T. etwas rutschig. Insgesamt aber ein sehr guter Winterschuh!

Schön warm, wasserfest, etwas rutschig bei nassen Böden

Sie halten wirklich schön warm und sind erstaunlich lange wasserfest (nasse Wiese, mal schnell mit Wasserschlauch vom Schlamm befreien haben stand gehalten) Leider finde ich sie auf nassen glatten Böden sehr fitschig, deshalb 1 Stern Abzug

Wunderbar

Ich habe die Schuhe jetzt erst seit einigen Wochen und kann dementsprechend nichts zur Langlebigkeit sagen. Bisher bin ich aber begeistert! Die Schuhe sind sehr gemütlich. Wasserdicht und warm sind sie auch. Die Sohle ist natürlich etwas dicker als bei Sommer-Barfußschuhen und das Laufgefühl dementsprechend nicht ganz so "direkt". Das macht das Gehen aber nicht weniger angenehm, die Füße haben trotzdem die Möglichkeit zur natürlichen Abrollbewegung und schön viel Platz im Schuh! Ich werde mir noch ein zweites Paar kaufen.

I used these boots for 4.5 months of winter season at the Arctic circle, Lapland, as an outdoor guide, and they were perfect. Worn with a pair of thin normal socks +thick woolen socks, sprayed 2x the surface with waterproofing spray, completely waterproof. Only when snowmobiling on the frozen river in -34 C, used foot warmers, and my toes didn't freeze like they would in non- barefoot shoes. Good grip, light. For drying the inside, fill with shoe paper overnight. The hooks are dangerous, would prefer it with holes all the way up.
